Starting from the theme of Innovative Technologies 2020, "New Communication Technology - What will be born from No-Meet / No-Touch !?", based on communication Technology born from such era, the panelists will discuss a wide range of what should be done, in the society now and in the future, from the standpoint of people in the industry who are active in the field, those who propose the politics, and those who study in the field of academics.

In Innovative Technologies 2020, we have adopted the excellent technologies as those expected to contribute significantly to the development of the content industry through innovation, with the theme of “new communication technology-what will be born from No-Meet / No-Touch !?” ,

This symposium focuses on “communication technology born from such era" and talks about how to respond to this era and what the future society should be, by the people in the industry who are currently active in that field. The panelists will have a wide range of discussions from the standpoint of those who propose the politics, and those who study in the field of academics.

Specifically, one of the issues is what kind of technology is needed based on what kind of technology in the field of "with and after Covid-19", and what kind of digital transformation the technology will bring to the world in the future, so that the speakers will have a lively and vivid discussion on this issue.

  • Akira Fukabori
    Co-Founder and CEO, avatarin Inc.

    After graduating from Tokai University in 2008 with a degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics, Akira joined ANA where he began his career in Flight Operations. He went on to launch the marketing program "Blue Wing" which won the Global Agenda Seminar Grand Prize in 2010 and is currently featured in a case study at USC Marshall School of Business. In 2016, he worked with the XPRIZE Foundation to design the next global competition where he, together with Kevin Kajitani, proposed the ANA Avatar XPRIZE concept which is now an active prize. Akira launched avatarin Inc. in April 2020.

  • Jinha Lee
    Co-founder & Chief Product Officer , Spatial Systems, Inc.

    Designer, inventor, and entrepreneur. Cofounder of Spatial, a company that is building a holographic meeting platform that allows people to work together from anywhere as if they were in the same room. Prior to founding Spatial, Jinha created technologies to physically interact with digital data for the past decade: SpaceTop was a pioneering Augmented Reality desktop that allowed people to reach inside the screen. He also created a physical pixel, ZeroN, that levitates and moves freely as his master thesis project at MIT. At Samsung, he led the redesign of Smart TVs, turning screens into a collaboration platform and artistic data visualization. As an advocate for inclusive design, he co-designed Bradley Timepiece, an award-winning tactile wristwatch for the blind. These projects became viral and brought him to the TED stage in 2013. Jinha was named one of the "35 innovators under 35" by the MIT Technology Review , and one of the "32 greatest living designers" by Fast Company, and was named a "Young Global Leader" by the World Economic Forum.

  • Mika Takagi
    Director, Media and Content Industry Division, Commerce and Information Policy Bureau, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry

    Mika Takagi is now the Director of Media and Content Industry Division of the Commerce and Information Policy Bureau under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan. Her division promotes Japan's creative industries worldwide by supporting localization and promotion of Japanese content to foreign markets, providing a date base that consolidates Japanese content rights information etc. Her passion lies in changing our society with the use of creativity and technology. Prior to the current role, she started the Japanese government's Cool Japan campaign in collaboration with the other ministries. She earned her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

  • Masahiko Inami, Ph.D.
    Adviser to the President, Professor, Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo

    Dr. Masahiko Inami took up his current position as professor at the University of Tokyo after working at the University of Electro-Communications and Keio University. His interests include "JIZAI body editing technology," the Augmented Human, and entertainment engineering. He has received several awards, including TIME Magazine's "Coolest Invention of the Year" award and the Young Scientist Award from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT). He is also the co-representative of the Superhuman Sports Society and a director of the VR Consortium. His latest book is called "Birth of the Superhuman! Human Beings Beyond Science Fiction (NHK Publishing, Inc).

  • Satoshi Endo
    Senior Research Fellow, KADOKAWA ASCII Research Laboratories, Inc. Senior Research Fellow

    Mr. Satoshi Endo worked as Chief Editor of "Monthly ASCII" since 1991. After working as a director of ASCII Inc., he has been in the current position since 2013. Worked on books such as "Murphy's Law" and "" Super "Arrangement Notebook". Currently, engaged in research / consulting, seminars, and dissemination of technology trends, and worked as an adviser on "AI White Paper" 2019, 2020. The books include " Fighting as computer related people ", "Social Native Era", and "General Purpose Technology-The Ultimate Way to Break Japan's Stagnation" (co-authored with Yukio Noguchi), which interviewed Japanese computer pioneers.
