Technical details

Toppan, with its virtual reality technology cultivated for many years initiatives high definition and highly immersive visual expression for cultural treasures using 8K monitor. The National Treasures "Writing Box with Eight Bridges” by Ogata Korin and the "Tea leaf jar of a design of wisteria" by Nonomura Ninsei (collections of Tokyo National Museum), was fully digitized using high-definition digital photography, 3D measurement, X-ray CT photography and other latest technologies.
The virtual reality work enables to view the beauty and the design of the artworks from the inside, allowing viewers to experience the world that the artists have created from an angle impossible to see from the actual artwork.
In the VR dome, 3D glasses are used to show stereoscopic views maximizing the VR expression of the cultural treasures and event contents.
Also a three dimensional vision is realized by a telepresence robot that bidirectional communicates at real-time moving freely within the exhibition hall.
