ASIAGRAPH 2014 Takumi Award will be given to Naoko Yamazaki, the second female astronaut who rode the U.S. space shuttle Discovery. After leaving JAXA, she has been frequently making presentations about her experience of realizing her dream to become an astronaut, helping children think about their future dreams.
ASIAGRAPH 2014 Tsumugi Award will go to Mitsuhisa Ishikawa, known as brain of international business for Japanese animation and CEO of Production I.G. which received Audience Award and Satoshi Kon Award at the 18th Fantasia International Film Festival held in Montreal, Canada and also has drawn international attention by the production of “Ghost in the Shell: ARISE.”
Enjoy an unpredictable talk show about the space, animation and technology by Naoko Yamazaki who came to wish to become an astronaut influenced by such animation works as “Space Battleship Yamato” and “Galaxy Express 999”; and Mitsuhisa Ishikawa who keeps producing world-class works depicting the space and future technology utilizing the media of animation; moderated by Yoichiro Kawaguchi, world-famous CG artist and professor at the University of Tokyo.
