Jeremy has been engaged in VR/AR content and hardware creation for long years. Recently, he is challenging to apply interactive technology to a variety of fileds to push the limits.
In this session, he will talk about technologies and applications he has developed and the future and expectations for interactive technology.

Interactive technology including VR/AR attracts a great deal of attention these years.
How the advancement of interactive technology can change our life, job, learning, leisure, medical care, etc. in the future?
We will have a panel discussion to discuss the issues with extinguished panelists including Jeremy, Michitaka Hirose from the University of Tokyo, and Shinnosuke Iwaki of Dwango Co., Ltd.
Kensuke Ichihara of DCAJ will be a moderator of the panel.

    1For the past 13 years, Jeremy has lead a visual effects and post-production company focused on cutting edge CGI animation and simulation for broadcast television, film, and IMAX.
    Since 2008, the company's focus shifted to building Augmented and Virtual Reality experiences, pushing the limits of interactivity for agencies, brands, institutions, theme parks, museums, science centers, zoos, and aquariums.
    In 2016, Jeremy's AR/VR studio was acquired by Merge Labs, a leading mobile VR company with a focus on building both hardware and software products for virtual and augmented reality.
    Zoo-AR is an augmented reality education and technology company Jeremy founded in 2011 with the idea that we can positively change the way kids learn using interactive technology.
    Jeremy brings a unique blend of art and creativity combined with science and technology to tell truly unique and engaging interactive stories.
  • Michitaka Hirose
    Professor at the University of Tokyo, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology.

    He was born in Kanagawa, in 1954.
    He was graduated from the University of Tokyo, School of Engineering in 1977, and received PhD. degree in 1982. Since then, he has been in various positions such as Associate Professor and Professor at the University of Tokyo. He also served as a president of Virtual Reality Society of Japan.
    His research interests cover Systems Engineering, Human Interface and Virtual Reality. He is known as a pioneer of Japanese Virtual Reality research. He served as a project leader of many national R&D projects such as “Digital Museum”, “Digital Public Art” and “Virtual Museum”.
    He was awarded with various prizes such as Tokyo Techno-Forum Gold Medal Prize, Okawa Publishing Prize etc. He wrote many books such as “Virtual Reality” (Sangyo-Tosho) and “Between Man and Machine” (Iwanami-Shoten).

    Senior Executive Director of Digital Content Association of Japan (DCAJ)

    Completing a master’s course in electrical and electronic engineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology, entered MITI (currently METI) in 1986. After serving at METI, the Japan Defense Agency, Cabinet Office, etc., appointed Director-General for Economy, Trade and Industry Department of Okinawa General Bureau of Cabinet Office in 2007. From 2009, served as Director-General for Industry and Technology Department and Manufacturing and Environment Industry Department of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). Appointed a professorship at Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2012 and appointed to the current position in June, 2014. Specializes in industrial policy, theory of innovation and organizational management.
