Free-Viewpoint video is a technology that realizes observation from an arbitrary viewpoint by merging multiple-view videos capturing a real world. We are not allowed to move the viewpoint freely in ordinary image media, since the producer fixed the observer’s viewpoint in advance. As the result, we might miss a chance to observe some interesting scenes. Free-viewpoint video could propose a solution for such problem. Moreover, we can enjoy the contents with satisfying each one's preference. The Free-Viewpoint Video Studio demonstrates to execute all processes from capturing multiple-view images to rendering free-viewpoint video in real-time, so that the visitor can enjoy the free-viewpoint video of some live performances such as dance and sports.

We capture multiple-view videos of live performance performed in the studio using 21 cameras, and by merging the images, generate free viewpoint video in real-time. We can enjoy the generated free-viewpoint video displayed on a monitor with controlling the viewpoint using an intuitive interface utilizing multi-touch interface.
