8K:VR is a brand-new, theater-style VR experience. In 2015, we created the first 8K:VR content titled “Aoi - sakanaction”. The main video is about 5 minutes long, and in addition to high quality 8K3D video and 22.2ch surround sound content, we also added live lasers to create an even more immersive entertainment experience.

One of 8K:VR’s most appealing aspects is the ability to create “shared experiences”. Currently, all different types of VR content is being created, but the majority of those are aimed towards singular, head-mounted displays.
8K:VR, however, is a theater-style, alternative VR experience you cannot get with a head-mounted display. We believe that we are pioneering the future of shared-experience, theater-based content, such as film, live music, and stage performances.

　Exhibition content

The 8K:VR Theater, located on the 7th floor of Innovation Hall, will be available by reservation during the expo.
Come enjoy “Aoi-Sakanaction”, the world’s first work produced on the format of 8K:VR format, which combines 8K3D video, 22.2ch surround sound, and live lasers projected onto a 270+ inch screen.
