Jeff Jortner, President of ACM SIGGRAPH, the world's largest community of people who share an interest in computer graphics and interactive techniques will talk about the recent and future trends of technologies accepted at SIGGRAPH, what technologies fill the needs of the times and the possibility of those technologies being adopted in the industry.
Tatsuya Sago, Director of Media and Content Industry Division of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will introduce Japanese content industry policy including those on content-related technology and international development of the industry.
A panel discussion will follow on how to utilize new technological ideas for the industry and society by Jeff Jortner, Susumu Tachi, Professor at Keio University and a leading expert in the field VR/AR and a business person (yet to be confirmed) who is developing and applying CG and AR technologies for industrial usage.

    Jeff Jortner

    As a Principal Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories, Jeff has over 26 years of experience in leading, developing, evaluating, and applying novel tools for Scientific Visualization, Geospatial Analysis, Visual Analytics, and Computer-Aided Modeling. His current research interest is in innovative visualization tools and environments for engineering systems.

    He is a member of ACM SIGGRAPH, ACM and the IEEE Computer Society with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University.

    Jeff is President of ACM SIGGRAPH and has been a member of the organization for over 30 years. He has served in a number of roles over the years including founding member of the Rio Grande SIGGRAPH chapter, SIGGRAPH conference committee chair positions (Registration, Networking, and Panels), Information Director and Treasurer.
